The IqaudIO Pi-DigiAMP+ is a HAT-compatible DAC and Class D amplifier designed for the Raspberry Pi, providing full-HD (192/24) HiFi quality audio and up to 2x35W of power output. It transforms your Raspberry Pi into an independent Hi-Fi system and can be used as a basis for projects like retro radio restorations, music sets, in-car audio players, or kiosk/display solutions.
It is specifically designed to offer the best audio performance with Raspberry Pi A+, B+, and RPi2 models, fitting the Pi's form factor and providing access to many of the Pi's 40-pin GPIO signals for additional peripherals like IR sensors, rotary encoders, or I2C devices (such as OLED screens).
The HAT utilizes the latest Texas Instruments chipset (TAS5756m) to deliver excellent audio performance from a single HAT board. Like other IqaudIO products, you can be confident in its compatibility with Raspbian Linux, as it uses the same device drivers as Pi-DAC+, and it's supported by many software audio packages available in the market, including RuneAudio, Volumio, Moode, PiCorePlayer, PiMusicBox, OpenELEC, and more. IqaudIO Pi-DigiAMP+ easily handles 24-bit/192kHz file formats while providing equally impressive playback for lower-quality MP3s that can still bring your music to life.
Please note that GPIO22 on the Pi-DigiAMP+ is used for amplifier mute control and defaults to muted when powered on. You can find examples in the user documentation, and many software versions already support Pi-AMP+ in a similar manner.
IqaudIO Pi-DigiAMP+ connects easily to the Raspberry Pi and delivers 2x35W stereo output to your speakers.
Getting Started
IQaudio DigiAMP+ can be connected to the 40-pin GPIO header of Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+, Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi 3, or Raspberry Pi 4 without the need for soldering. DigiAMP+ requires an external power source and a 12-24V DC power supply with a 5.5 mm x 2.5 mm barrel connector is needed. It is recommended to use the XP Power VEC65US19 power supply with DigiAMP+.
DigiAMP+ is designed to provide power in parallel with the Raspberry Pi-plus-DigiAMP+ combination and supplies 5.1V @ 2.5A to your Raspberry Pi.
DO NOT APPLY POWER TO THE RASPBERRY PI'S OWN POWER INPUT WHILE USING DigiAMP+.
The amplifier is muted by default when the power is turned on (mute LED is on). Mute status/LED is software-controlled (Raspberry Pi GPIO22).
P5: Alternative power input for wired installations. POLARITY MUST BE OBSERVED!
