Introduce some color to your next coding project with our new Halo board for the BBC micro:bit. Halo features 24 ZIP LEDs, each individually addressable and capable of displaying a wide range of incredible color effects. This means you can achieve stunning visual effects with a broad spectrum of colors.
Halo securely attaches to the BBC micro:bit with five sturdy bolts. The board also includes extension connector pads (spaced at 0.1") that allow you to connect additional ZIP LEDs. The P1 and P2 micro:bit pins are separated, and power and GND are provided on the 0.1" pads as well. This enables additional connections for low-power components like sensors and switches.
Halo operates on a power supply voltage of 3.5V-5V and provides a regulated power source to the BBC micro:bit. Power can be supplied via a 3xAAA battery holder, LiPo battery, or JST cable connected to the JST input. Alternatively, you can solder a power source directly to the PCB's solder pads. The LEDs used are based on the WS2812B component, making them compatible with any WS2812B driver code. Additionally, you can program them using the MakeCode Block / Javascript editor.
