Sends a signal to the next module when motion is detected in the vicinity.
The Motion Sensor transmits the signal for 6 seconds. Any motion detected in the environment within these 6 seconds will extend the signal transmission time. In very bright environments, the Motion Sensor's detection sensitivity may decrease. Have you ever noticed the lights turning on when you approach? Have you ever noticed revolving doors moving when you approach? In "a" mode, it sends a signal when there is motion in the vicinity. In "b" mode, it sends a signal when there is no motion in the vicinity.
Inside the motion sensor is a PIR (passive infrared sensor). The sensor being passive means it only has a receiver. The source of the detected light is also living beings emitting infrared light, like you. The infrared light emitted by humans due to body heat is enough to activate this sensor.
Motion sensors have Fresnel lenses. The Fresnel lens, inspired by the wide field of vision of creatures like flies, focuses all incoming light on the central infrared sensor, actually making the motion sensor work more efficiently.
