Force-sensitive resistors, passive components, exhibit a decrease in resistance values proportional to the force applied to the active square area of 38mm * 38mm. This allows the detection of force or pressure.
PFT (Polymer Thick Film) devices can detect forces ranging from a few grams to 10 kg in touch-controlled electronic devices. The product can be easily used in touch interface projects and various robotic applications.
In tests conducted on the product, it was observed that when no force was applied to the product, it created a resistance value of 1MΩ, and when a 20-gram force was applied, it created a resistance value of 50kΩ. When the product was subjected to as much force as possible, a value of 200Ω was reached. The values obtained in response to the applied force are highly consistent.
In repeated constant force applications, the product was observed to produce constant values. The product's resistance value range can work directly with internal pull-ups found in many microcontrollers such as AVR and PIC.
The product is sensitive enough to detect light taps and vibrations from small vibration motors.
The pin spacing of the product is suitable for use in breadboards.
Note: The product is not suitable for precision and endurance measurements. Force accuracy can vary between 5% and 25% under various conditions. The resolution is better than 0.5% of the entire value range.
