Qwiic Boost continues to provide 3.3V I2C signals to the target device while boosting the Qwiic data path from 3.3V to 5V. This is a useful board for connecting technologies that have an internal processor running at 3.3V but still require 5V for higher voltage mechanisms, such as DC fans. We've seen this used in air quality sensors that use a fan to push air into a test chamber.
The 5V boosting circuit is rated for up to 100mA with 90% efficiency. The board comes with a level-shifting circuit for applications where a 5V device requires 5V I2C signals. A jumper is available to select between 3.3V (default) and 5V I2C signals.
he SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that makes prototyping faster and less prone to errors. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the required PCB footprint and polarized connections ensure you won't plug it in backward.
